This race was a perfect training for the Spa 6 Hours end September.

Serge Lebeau - Successful First Half of Season 2009
Congratulations to Serge Lebeau on his 2009 season so far.!!

To the TTR team :

Dear Eddy,
I hereby send you some information about the first half of my race season 2009.
In the winter I rebuild my little yellow car : cleaning, cleaning and cleaning…..checking, checking ….and rebuilding what was used.

Time and budget were the main reasons why I decided to do the Belgian Historic Championship, also because the series got an national status from this year on. As we don’t have a lot of historic cars racing in Belgium the RACB and BRAVO decided to open the series for historic race cars till 1988, with three classes : 1)Historic Cup: cars till 1981 in FIA configuration 2) Classic cup: cars till 1981 not FIA configuration and 3) Youngtimers: cars till 1988.

The Porches would be the cars to beat, so a 1600cc Lotus Elan of 1965 against a Porche of 1988…. Difficult mission !My season started with a second place overall and first in class at Spa Francorchamps in the Trophee des Fagnes race.
Race 1 of the Belgian Kick Off race in Zolder was again second overall and first in class but with the fastest lap of 1.50.241 ! I think this is the fastest lap of an Elan ever in Zolder !

Winning Race 2 was even better so first overall and class ! Fantastic Weekend.

Testing during the Gordon Star Festival in Zolder was more difficult because of the rain.The race ended as the diff broke but I was still classified third in the class.In July I went to Spa with a new diff for the Spa Summer Classics and qualified second .Half the race I was leading but again the Porche of Van Elderen was much to fast on the straights.

With still two races to go I ‘m leading the 2009 Belgian Historic Cup and am second overall ….not bad for an old guy in an old car.

The fastest 26R had a 100% reliability record and will be out again in 2010

2 races for combined classic sportscars and saloon cars up to 1986 , two class wins , 2nd overall behind big V8 , and setting a new overall lap record for the series ( quicker by 1.5 seconds than the previous holder with 3.0 Porsche 911)
